Originally from both the rugged landscapes of northwest Iceland and beautiful Hampshire in the UK, I launched Sóla Sóla from my home studio in 2014. With a lifelong passion for art and a background in garden and planting design, I specialise in creating hand-carved Lino cut prints, collage pieces and original mixed media paintings and illustrations.

My work is deeply influenced by the natural world, from the wildness of my Icelandic roots to the serenity of the English south coast. Each print is carved by hand, imbuing it with the unique character of a truly handcrafted piece. I often add hand-embellishments, ensuring that each work becomes a cherished, one-of-a-kind creation.

 

I am a self-taught artist, constantly finding inspiration in the interplay of watercolour, gouache, and ink on paper. My skills also extend to brush lettering and modern calligraphy, which I love to apply to bespoke wedding stationery, event invitations, or personal gifts.

I am equally at ease with traditional pencil and paper as well as using digital tools to create illustrations, hand lettered pieces and more. At my very happiest when I am creating, I pretty much always have a project (or three) on the go. . .
